Depth of field
Lens blur from the active camera.

With depth of field, only what is at the focus distance comes out sharp, and the rest blurs, more the farther it is from the focus.
It is set on the active camera. Without an active camera, everything is sharp.
Controls
- Depth of field: Turns the blur on.
- Focus distance: The distance, in meters, of what stays sharp. In the images above, the front sphere.
- F-stop: A low number blurs more; a high number keeps more in focus.
- Aperture blades: From 0 to 12. Shapes the blurred light spots: with 6, they become hexagons. Below 3, they are round.
How to use it
Start with the distance to the main object and adjust until its edge is sharp. The focus plane shows in the viewport, on the camera drawing.
The blur gets grainy with few samples: when you turn it on, raise the Antialiasing samples in quality.
