Sharing

A project can be shared in three ways: by inviting people, by creating a view only public link or by placing it in a workspace.

Everything starts at Share, in the project menu on the dashboard or in the File menu of the editor.

Roles

Each person's role decides what they can do:

Rename and change settingsYesYes
Invite and manage collaboratorsYesYes
Create or cancel the public linkYesYes

Hand over ownershipYes

The role can come from the invitation or from the project's workspace. When a person has both, the stronger one applies.

Inviting collaborators

In the Collaborators tab of the project settings, use Invite collaborator, enter the email and choose the role. The person needs a Tinypoly account, and whoever invites needs a verified email.

The invited person answers in Requests, on the projects page. Once accepted, the project shows up in the Shared tab.

In the same tab you can change a collaborator's role or remove them.

Leaving a project

Anyone who is not the owner can leave a shared project with Leave project, in the project menu. Coming back takes a new invitation.

Handing over ownership

The owner hands the project to a collaborator in Transfer, To a person tab. The person accepts or declines in Requests. Once accepted, they become the owner and the previous owner stays as Admin.

In the To a workspace tab, the same window moves the project to a workspace.

The public link shows the project in a 3D viewer, to anyone and without an account.

  • Create public link creates the link.
  • Visitors always see the last saved state.
  • Cancelling the link removes access right away.

Community

Share to community opens the community with the project already chosen, to post the result to the feed.
