Torus

The doughnut ring, with separate ring and tube radii.

Torus

The Torus is a circular tube closed on itself. It is a surface with no beginning and no end, so the whole mesh is made of quads and there is no pole and no cap, which makes it the most comfortable primitive to deform.

  • Radius: Distance from the center of the torus to the center of the tube, in meters. It is the size of the ring.
  • Tube Radius: Thickness of the tube. The outer radius is the sum of the two, and the central hole is the difference between them.
  • Radial Seg.: Number of divisions of the tube section. With four, the ring ends up with a square section.
  • Tubular Seg.: Number of divisions around the main ring. It decides whether the ring reads as a circle or as a polygon.
