Workspaces
A workspace is a group of people who share projects: a studio, a team, a class. Every member reaches every project in the workspace, without needing an invitation for each project.
Outside any group there is the Personal space, with your own projects and the ones shared directly with you.
Switching spaces
If you belong to any space, the open space shows at the top of the dashboard sidebar: click it to switch. The same switcher is also in your account menu, at the bottom of the sidebar. The dashboard remembers the last space you opened and goes back to the personal one if it no longer exists. The projects page then shows the projects of the chosen space.
Members and roles
The workspace role applies to all of its projects:
| Action | Viewer | Editor | Admin | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| See the workspace, members and projects | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Edit the workspace projects | Yes | Yes | Yes | |
| Create projects in it and move your own into it | Yes | Yes | Yes | |
| Rename the workspace | Yes | Yes | ||
| Invite, change roles and remove members | Yes | Yes | ||
| Make another member the owner | Yes | |||
| Delete the workspace | Yes |
Deleting, duplicating and moving a project is still up to that project's owner only. See project roles in Sharing.
Managing
Manage workspaces, in the switcher, opens the workspace settings: the name, the members and the Invite button. Each member's menu lets you change the role, Remove member or Make owner.
The invited person needs a Tinypoly account and answers in Requests, on the projects page.
Adding and removing projects
- Create in the workspace: With the workspace open, new projects are created in it.
- Move: The project owner uses Transfer, To a workspace tab. To take it out, they move it back to the Personal space.
Leaving and deleting
Any member can use Leave workspace, except the owner, who first needs to hand over ownership or delete the workspace.
Delete workspace removes the group, never the projects: each one goes back to its owner's Personal space.
